 A QUEEN can always turn pain into POWER! Vibhuti(30), had 3 siblings. Her father worked in a construction company and her mother was a daily wage labourer. When Vibhuti was in 9th standard, her relatives got her an alliance. They wanted her to marry. But Vibhuti was only 14 at that time and wanted to continue her studies. But her parents didn't listen to her and had to marry due to family pressure. Her parents told her that they won't be able to give her dowry because she had 2 more younger sisters who are yet to marry, so they can't afford giving her dowry. She was convinced, hence she didn't ask anything from her parents. She was married off to a 20 year old man. At 15, she got pregnant. Her husband was a shirker and didn't do any work.  The only difficulty in life is a bad attitude! Rushali(27), got married in 2013. She was married to a man she didn't know before. She had done M.Sc. Chemistry. During her marriage, her parents gave her everything they had because she was affected with a highly contagious disease-POLIO, and her parents decided to give her everything they had because she was a disable. They did it for the love of their daughter, so that in future she doesn't have to listen anything from her in-laws. But after marriage, she was brutally treated by her in-laws. They harassed her to a great extent only because she was Polio affected. Her husband worked in a private firm and earned INR 10,000. Rushali also worked in a private firm and earned INR 20,000.  Good Days are Ahead Lalita(22), was madly in love with a boy named Pawan Kumar. She was a teenager when she fell in love with him and she told her parents that she wanted to marry him.  VMM: Exceptional care close to you Sakshi(26), had to suffer a great deal in her childhood. Her parents got separated due to some dispute. And years later, her mother died of cancer. She was alone. Seeing her condition, her maternal uncle asked for her hand in marriage and she agreed. She married him. She worked in a private firm. After some years, she got pregnant and resigned from the job. She got pregnant twice and gave birth to a boy and a girl. She was blessed with two children. She couldn't continue her job as she had to take care of her children. Her husband run a small business where she helped him. But due to some setback, his business doomed to death. He became bankrupt.  VMM: Providing a Helping Hand Alia, led a very tough life. She lost her parents in her childhood due to cancer. She had one younger sister. After her parents' demise, her paternal aunt took care of them. Her grandmother worked really hard to feed them. She worked as a domestic help. Her both kidneys were damaged and she was afraid that she might die anytime soon, so she decided to send Alia and her sister to Vasavya Mahila Mandali Urban Deprived Residential Hostel for Girls. She sent them there. And after a few years, she died. Presently, Alia is studying in 8th standard and her sister in 7th standard. Both of them are leading a happy life. Alia is really thankful to Vasavya Mahila Mandali and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan for providing them with shelter and education.  Like VMM, let's take every opportunity to serve the community. You must also want to do something for the betterment of people but we believe you haven't got any opportunity yet!  So, here comes the opportunity:  O

 Education comes first! Tanvi(22), came to Vasavya Mahila Mandali at 18. Her case was referred through Krishna Lanka Police Station to Child Welfare Committee and further she contacted VMM. Her father died, and her mother raised her. She could study till 8th grade because she lost her interest in studies. She fell in love with a boy and wanted to marry him. But her mother disapproved of her marriage because she was merely 18, moreover, her boyfriend belonged to Muslim Community whereas she was Hindu. So, she came to VMM, Ms. Chennupati Vidya and Ms. Rashmi counselled her and told her that it's the age to achieve something, not to marry. They told her to focus on her study and after she finishes with her studies, she can marry whomsoever she want to. After counselling, she was put under tailoring training, after the completion of which she received a certificate in tailoring. She gained confidence, learnt etiquettes.  YOU can do it! Shrilata(48), lost her mother in early childhood. She was raised by her father. He ran a small hotel. When she was in 7th standard, her father got her a match for marriage because he was not well and suffered health problems, so he wanted her to marry and get settled. But there was huge age gap between her and her husband. He was 28 whereas she was only 14. But she had to marry for her father's sake. Her parents were quite old and she didn't want to bother them about her condition, so she remained quiet. Even after  years of marriage, she had no children. She was absolutely aloof.  Domestic Violence Sheena(47), is a victim of domestic violence. She has two children. Both of them are pursuing B.Tech. She got separated from her husband 15 years ago and registered a complaint against him but in vain. The authorities didn't pay any heed to her. So, she knocked at the court's door, and the court gave orders to her husband under the Maintenance and Domestic Violence Act. According to the acts, she was supposed to be given INR 3000, and INR 5000 respectively. Her husband obeyed court's decision only for 6 months and after that he stopped giving the compensation. She again went to the police station but they didn't cooperate. She was exhausted completely at this response by the authorities. She finally decided to get justice through the Spandana Program but there also she didn't get justice. The officers of Spandana Program told her to consult police, and she was hopeful that this time probably the authorities might support her but they didn't. A

 VMM: The best foster care Priyanshi (30), came to Vasavya Mahila Mandali with her parents and relatives. She was a victim of  Domestic Violence, and her husband was so callous that he threw her out of his house along with her children. He sent her back to her parents house. Priyanshi's father thought of filing a complaint against him in the Police Station, but got no input from the officers there, so he finally decided to consult some counseling centre. He took her daughter to VMM Counseling Centre. The Counselor and the President (Dr.Keerthi) counseled her and called her husband to VMM to sort their differences out. Her husband told the counselor and Dr.Keerthi that he loves his wife and his children, it's just Priyanshi's behaviour that he doesn't like. He told them that Priyanshi under the influence of her parents argued with him almost everyday, and that led to a dispute between them. Dr. Keerthi arranged another meeting for them and their family. Supporting people through Thick and Thin Vidya(15), came to V.M.M a few years back. She was referred to V.M.M by Women Welfare Department, Vijayawada because she was 9 months pregnant. In V.M.M, she told her tale to the counselors. She told them that she lives in a village with her mother. Her mother runs a petty shop there. She was studying in 9th standard but she had to drop her studies in the middle because of their financial condition. So, she worked in a house as a domestic help to give her mother a helping hand. Near the house where she worked, she was a police station. There was a constable whom she loved and who loved her too. She had an affair with the constable but her mom was oblivious. She didn't know anything about it. During their relationship, they got intimate and made love to each other. One of the Mahila Mitra named Radhika(48)  sought help from the President Dr. Keerthi and told her that her daughter Kranti married Kiran, 11 years ago. The duo were blessed with 2 kids. Kiran worked in the government sector. One day, Kranti called her mother, Radhika and told her that her husband Kiran beats her, molests her. He also threatens her that he'll kill her. He beats her to such an extent that she could feel death itself. So Kranti told her mother that she wanted to leave him. But the problem was lockdown, as there were no transportation services, moreover, her husband's place(Chittor)  was far from her mother's place(Vijayawada). Pragati's mother-in-law wanted dowry but Pragati didn't bring any dowry because she belonged to poor class. Her husband used to beat her for not bringing dowry. Pragati was given the worst treatment in her in-laws house. She was treated like an animal. Her husband tortured her to the extent he could.
