Supporting people through Thick and Thin

Supporting people through Thick and Thin

Vidya(15), came to V.M.M a few years back. She was referred to V.M.M by Women Welfare Department, Vijayawada because she was 9 months pregnant. In V.M.M, she told her tale to the counselors. She told them that she lives in a village with her mother. Her mother runs a petty shop there. She was studying in 9th standard but she had to drop her studies in the middle because of their financial condition. So, she worked in a house as a domestic help to give her mother a helping hand. Near the house where she worked, she was a police station. There was a constable whom she loved and who loved her too. She had an affair with the constable but her mom was oblivious. She didn't know anything about it. During their relationship, they got intimate and made love to each other. Consequently, Vidya got pregnant, but the guy whom she made love with denied her pregnancy and left her. She later informed her mother about her condition. So, her mother filed a case against the man in the police station. She was a minor, so police referred her to V.M.M.

The counselors helped her to every extent they can. She was 4 months pregnant when she came to Veneravaram Rural Campus of V.M.M. She stayed there till the end of her delivery. She had her personal care taker there. After 8th month, she was referred to V.M.M Main Campus Vijayawada for delivery. There she told the counselors that she liked Seemantham, and the counselors were so kind enough that they even arranged Seemantham for the girl. For the delivery, she was sent to the government hospital. She gave birth to a baby boy. After delivery her mother brought her back home. Now, she is living a peaceful life in her own house. She is extremely grateful to Vasavya Mahila Mandali (V.M.M)  for their support.
