YOU can do it!

 YOU can do it!

Shrilata(48), lost her mother in early childhood. She was raised by her father. He ran a small hotel. When she was in 7th standard, her father got her a match for marriage because he was not well and suffered health problems, so he wanted her to marry and get settled. But there was huge age gap between her and her husband. He was 28 whereas she was only 14. But she had to marry for her father's sake. After 6 months of her marriage, her husband started torturing her. She shared this problem with her father and he understood her situation and called her back home. But after some time, she contacted her husband but he didn't want her to return to him. This made her worried. She enquired about him and to her surprise, he was having an extramarital affair. Then, she understood that he wanted to get rid of her, hence, he tortured her. Her husband married the woman, he had an affair with. After sometime, her father admitted her into a tailoring course for her skill development. After the completion of which, she received a certificate. She, then, started working with a unit stitching clothes. During, her struggling period, she was approached by Vasavya Mahila Mandali (VMM). VMM asked her problem and helped her with some money. Moreover, VMM got her enrolled into "Zig-Zag Mission" of embroidery.

This way, VMM, brought her confidence back and presently, she earns ₹400-500 daily. She is financially secured. But due to COVID-19, she got corona positive, but VMM gave her psychological strength and she recuperated. She is corona negative now. She is extremely thankful to VMM for their immense love and support due to which she is independent today. She is leading a happy life.

What can we expect from a man who didn't even spare a 14 year old? Yes, she married him but that doesn't mean she has become his slave.

Men think of themselves as the masters and their wives as slaves. And according to them, women are subjected to their ill treatment.

We really need to put an end to this and yes, we can do it. So, let's collaborate with VMM's mission "Million Minds" and protect women from the trap of domestic violence.
