The only difficulty in life is a bad attitude!

The only difficulty in life is a bad attitude!

Rushali(27), got married in 2013. She was married to a man she didn't know before. She had done M.Sc. Chemistry. During her marriage, her parents gave her everything they had because she was affected with a highly contagious disease-POLIO, and her parents decided to give her everything they had because she was a disable. They did it for the love of their daughter, so that in future she doesn't have to listen anything from her in-laws. But after marriage, she was brutally treated by her in-laws. They harassed her to a great extent only because she was Polio affected. Her husband worked in a private firm and earned INR 10,000. Rushali also worked in a private firm and earned INR 20,000. But her husband was very callous, he used to take all her salary from her. Rushali was left with no money, she couldn't even save a penny for herself. Her husband even deprived her off the basic necessities. All her salary used to be taken by her in-laws. She was suffering from trauma. She informed her parents about her condition and they filed a case against her husband in the police station. Moreover, she registered a case with Domestic Violence Cell. The DVC Family court told her husband to give Rushali INR 8,000 per month. But her husband denied giving any money to her in front of the court. He said" I can't give money but If court wants they can put me into Jail". Rushali was disappointed. She went to VMM and demanded justice. She told them her tale of agony. Dr. Keerthi (President of Vasavya Mahila Mandali) handled her case. She filed a case at Station Level. Station House officer called her husband and asked him to give maintenance to Rushali. He agreed on INR 4,000 per month. Today, Rushali is not so happy but she is able to make her ends meet. She is proud of being "differently able".

Vasavya Mahila Mandali has treated many ill-tempered people and taught them to value their wives, mothers, and sisters. Our organisation sternly believes that disability is not an obstacle to success. We believe everyone who is disable is specially-able. Like Rushali, there are many women who are facing this problem even after earning more than their spouse, they are the ones who's blamed for everything.

We've got to change this mindset of people and teach them to see everybody equally.

VMM has recently launched a campaign "Million Minds" to aid the survivors of domestic violence and ensure them a  dignified life.

Let's all join in with them and help the ones in need:
