During the lockdown,V.M.M started a tele-counselling centre in alliance with the police department. In this period, various cases came to V.M.M. One of the Mahila Mitra named Radhika(48)  sought help from the President Dr. Keerthi and told her that her daughter Kranti married Kiran, 11 years ago. The duo were blessed with 2 kids. Kiran worked in the government sector. One day, Kranti called her mother, Radhika and told her that her husband Kiran beats her, molests her. He also threatens her that he'll kill her. He beats her to such an extent that she could feel death itself. So Kranti told her mother that she wanted to leave him. But the problem was lockdown, as there were no transportation services, moreover, her husband's place(Chittor)  was far from her mother's place(Vijayawada). Kiran's behaviour was getting worse day by day, he was even having an extramarital affair. Kranti wanted to leave him right away. Dr. Keerthi, on the request of Mahila Mitra Radhika helped her daughter. She made Radhika write a letter to the police department, where she stated that her daughter is gravely tortured and she wanted to return to her mother's place. So, the police filed a complaint against her husband, moreover, V.M.M and the  police department arranged transport for Kranti. Kranti came back home with her children. She is leading a happy life . She is extremely  obliged to V.M.M for their immense support. 



Another horrible glimpse into the world of domestic violence. 

It's high time that we put a full stop to it. If women are not safe inside their homes, how can we think about their safety outside? 

We need to defend women and for that we have to make sure of their safety. 

Merely sitting at home and watching these cases won't help. 

Let's not be silent for domestic violence. Let's raise our voice and ensure women a safe society, where she feels free and secure. 

We can do this, only by joining hands with Vasavya Mahila Mandali. They have taken a great initiative to help the survivors of domestic violence. So, let's become a part of change but signing up for this campaign.
