Great future starts here

Great future starts here

Mahalaxmi (19), was born in a poor family. She had two younger siblings. Her father was a drinker. He used to beat his wife after consuming alcohol. He was very irresponsible. He was addicted to all bad habits. He was never ever concerned towards his family. Her mother was a housewife. Her father was HIV+. He didn't even tell her mother about it. Consequently, their children too had the same problem, they were all infected with HIV

After a few months her parents died, Mahalaxmi was 6 when her parents died. And soon after, her siblings died too, but by God's grace, Mahalaxmi was alive. But there was no one to take care of her, she was all alone. One of the Vasavya Mahila Mandali (VMM) staff members, got to know about her condition. She brought her to VMM Children's home. VMM took a great care of her. They even admitted her to a hospital where she was treated with ART(Antiretroviral therapy). She spent a few months convalescing. Then she was brought back to Children's home by VMM. She even got admitted in school.

After her completion of school, she was submitted to Intermediate college for further study. After passing the Intermediate college, she got the opportunity to work with Skill Development Corporation, Andhra Pradesh. Now, she earns INR 10,000 per month. She is living her life happily.

This was the case of Mahalakshmi whose husband used to beat her after consuming alcohol. But why is that women had to go through so much ? They are also human and deserve a dignified life.

VMM lifted their hands to help Mahalakshmi. Like them, we should also help women out there.
Because everybody deserves respect.

We are living in 2021, and it's high time that we need to put an end to it.
