Mamta 28, married when she was 17 years, not even the legal age of marriage in India i.e 18. After 3 years of marriage, her husband started consuming excessive alcohol. He used to beat, abuse and molest her after alcohol's consumption. A day came when he threatened Mamta that he'll kill her. Mamta filed a case against her husband in the police station. Police referred her case to Vasavya Mahila Mandali (VMM) Family Counseling center. Both Mamta and her husband were counseled

by Mahila Mitra in VMM. Mamta asked her husband to sign a document that he won't beat her in future and will let her continue her study. Her husband agreed. Mamta took admission in Master in Computer Applications. She is independent now. The duo is leading a happy life.
